Carisbrooke Rifle & Pistol Club - Shooting Club in Shanklin

Carisbrooke Rifle & Pistol Club is a community of smallbore rifle enthusiasts who come together to enjoy the practical skills involved in .22 calibre target rifle shooting. Unlike other forms of shooting, the targets at the club are set in beautiful woods, and the metal targets are shaped like geometric figures or vermin, positioned at varying distances between 20 and 25 yards. The targets have a 15, 25 or 40mm hole with a plunger behind, and hitting it causes the target to fall, scoring a “hit.” Additionally, there are knock up/down targets that can be reset by hitting a paddle underneath. Members can test themselves weekly by taking a scorecard round and seeing how they progress.
The club possesses a facility with an on-site static caravan where shooters can take shelter from bad weather and enjoy a cup of tea/coffee. It is worth noting that rifles and pistols must conform to the legal limit of 12 foot pounds for air rifles and 6 foot pounds for air pistols, and the club has the means to test all airguns. The shooting of live quarry is strictly prohibited on the club grounds.
Carisbrooke Rifle & Pistol Club offers excellent instruction in Field Target Discipline, provided by their exceptional Field Target Team. For those who don’t own a weapon, the club provides club weapons to enable them to shoot. The club prides itself on being a friendly and inclusive community where everyone, regardless of gender or age, is warmly welcomed.
