Newport (IW) & District Rifle Club - Shooting Club in Newport
Newport (IW) & District Rifle Club is the leading target shooting club on the Isle of Wight, established in 1944 from the local Home Guard Company and still thriving today, more than 70 years later. With a membership of over 70 people, the club welcomes both male and female members aged 11 and up, but children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
The club offers a wide range of shooting disciplines, starting from .22 rimfire through to full-bore centre fire, black powder and shotgun. Members can participate in competitions to win an array of silver and other trophies every year, or they can simply shoot for fun.
Newcomers must have good character and undergo a three-month probationary period during which they can use the club’s firearms to practice and compete. Once they become full members, they can apply to the police for a firearms certificate to purchase and use their own firearms.

I think I have caught the bug for this.
Can’t wait to go and have another go.
Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable and the Instructors make learning easy to follow.
Added bonus, great little kitchen for a buttie and and a brew.
Great for all ages, my son who is 13 and autistic with coordination issues excelled in this thanks to the instructors.
Highly recommended the sport.
I wish I could do this again and again.
