Staincross Rifle & Pistol Club - Shooting Club in Barnsley
Staincross Rifle & Pistol Club, which was re-established in 1945, offers a warm welcome to individuals interested in indoor smallbore and air gun target shooting. The club is situated at the back of the Mapplewell and Staincross Village Hall, with detailed information available upon request through email. The club welcomes shooters of all abilities, ranging from complete novices to experienced marksmen.
The club provides all the necessary equipment for different smallbore shooting styles, ensuring the equipment fits each individual shooter. The club offers a wide range of shooting options, such as .22 rimfire rifle prone single shot precision shooting at 25 yards, benchrest shooting at 25 yards air rifle or .22 rimfire, rimfire or air rifle standing shooting at 20 yards, and .177 Air Rifle and Air Pistol 10-meter single shot precision shooting. The club also provides instructors, and juveniles over the age of 12 are welcome, but they must be accompanied by an adult.
The club’s opening times are Monday to Thursday from 7 pm to 9 pm and some Sunday mornings from 10 am to 1 pm. Prospective new members must complete a 6-month probationary period before being considered for full membership. Visitors are welcome and may attend up to 3 times before deciding on joining the club. The club charges visitors £2 per night for adults and £1 for juveniles (excluding the cost of ammunition).
