Box Rifle Club - Shooting Club in Chippenham
Box Rifle Club is a great place to experience the thrill of shooting. They offer three types of shooting which includes “Rimfire” shooting, indoor air rifle shooting, and air pistol shooting. Rimfire shooting uses cartridges with a rim instead of a center to ignite the primer cap. Indoor air rifle shooting is carried out on standard 10 metre ranges and is usually done with rifles of .177 caliber. Air pistol shooting is carried out over the same distance, but with different types of targets.
The Club has NRSA approved targets and the rifles used are usually pre-charged pneumatic (PCP), but it is also possible to shoot .177 spring rifles. All air rifles used in competitions must be under the 12 foot/pounds limit, which means you do not need a firearms certificate to own or shoot them. Air pistols used in competitions must be under the legal 6 foot/pounds limit for pistols.
