We have just returned home from a morning shooting clays. It’s about 4 months since our last visit to Park Lodge and oh boy what a difference. This place used to be amazing but not any more. So many no birds, stands not working and all in all a general lack of maintenance. As for the mounds of rubble that have been built up all around the place. It wouldn’t be bad if they were landscaped and grassed but they mostly look like builders rubble. It is so steep and close to some of the stands its intimidating. The access track and carpark are only good if you drive a 4×4 too. It’s a while since we’ve been and to be honest it’ll be a good while before we return. Come on guys get the place back to its former self.
Beautiful place. The food is amazing every time! Highly recommend the Sunday dinner.
Good but could be better. The shooting range could do with some well needed improvement and quite a few no birds which you get charged for
Enjoyed my first session here. Plenty of stands and variety. Access road is poor and needs some pot holes filled in, but that was the only negative
Shot here for first time today.
All round experience deserves the 5 stars. Saftey good and clearly proritised. I read some previous comments regarding it needing maintenance. Yes, I could see that in some places but a site such as this is always going to need some attention and the “issues” are too minor, in my opinion, to detract from the overall experience. We took 2 novices, great for them. No hassle, no pressure, friendly. Plenty of stands, so even when busy we still did not que.
We had 220 clays and perhaps had 6 no birds. Reception very welcoming. Breakfasts looked good ( next time maybe ?).
Nice shop on site also.
Would make an awesome site for full bore rifles ?
I/ we will revisit. No hesitation in recommending.
Just to add, pretty good site for wheelchair users or shooters with limited mobility.
Level access throughout, would suite powerchair/ scooter or active user/ robust manual wheelchair but all stands except 1 are accessible with care.
Great place , lovely modern building with a good cafe , great location and friendly staff
Great place to shoot, very nice clean and tidy, on site gun shop has everything you could need, plenty of different clays to have a go at, I actually had my first date with my partner here, only down side is the 9-5 opening hours makes it pretty much impossible for anyone with a job to go shoot without taking a day off, I would of expected later opening during the summer for them after work shoots, I spend a fortune on shooting every year and missing out at park lodge due to to opening hours
