Guildford & District Gun Club - Shooting Club in Guildford

Guildford & District Gun Club is a private clay pigeon shooting club that has been serving its members since its founding in 1960. Located near Guildford in Surrey, the club hosts a monthly 60-bird Sporting shoot at the picturesque Clandon Park, with the gracious permission of the 8th Earl of Onslow. The layout of the shoot changes every month, providing a fresh challenge for members to test their skills.

The club’s shoots commence on the third Sunday of each month, with entries closing at 10am. To ensure a safe and environmentally responsible shooting experience, the use of fibre wad cartridges is mandatory, with a maximum load of 28 grams of #6 shot. The club maintains a competitive yet friendly atmosphere, with trophies awarded to winners in each of the three member classes – A, B, and C – and promotion to the next class for the winners.

In addition to the regular monthly shoots, Guildford & District Gun Club organizes handicap shoots in January, June, and December. These special shoots, such as the Drawn Pairs event in January, the Father’s Day parent and child shoot in June, and the Xmas shoot in December, provide exciting variations to the club’s shooting calendar and foster camaraderie among members.

For those seeking a longer competitive season, the club’s Winter Series competition runs from November to February, offering members the opportunity to compete over multiple months and showcase their shooting prowess in a challenging winter environment.

As a club run by the members, for the members, Guildford & District Gun Club offers a welcoming and inclusive community for clay pigeon shooting enthusiasts of all skill levels. Whether you’re a seasoned shooter or new to the sport, the club’s professionally organized shoots and competitions provide a thrilling experience in a safe and friendly environment.
