Petworth and District Rifle Club - Shooting Club in Petworth

Petworth and District Rifle Club has a rich history dating back to the 19th century, with its origins rooted in the Sussex Rifle Volunteer Corps. The club was officially established on April 19th, 1907, by the 2nd Lord Leconfield, and opened its range later that year in November.

Originally known as “Lord Leconfield’s Miniature Rifle Club for Petworth and Neighbourhood”, the club now operates under the name “Petworth & District Rifle Club”. It holds ‘Miniature Rifle Range’ status under the Firearms Act 1968 and is also incorporated as a CASC. While the club’s roots lie in .22 shooting, a significant proportion of its members actively engage in full bore shooting on an individual basis, primarily at NRA Bisley. The club is both Home Office approved and NSRA affiliated.
