Salisbury Rifle and Pistol Club - Shooting Club in Salisbury

Salisbury Rifle and Pistol Club, founded in 1906, has a rich history of over a century and celebrated its centenary on the 29th of March 2006. The club was inaugurated by Lord Roberts in April of the same year.

Over the years, the club has garnered numerous accolades and trophies, including the Lansdowne Shield, which it has won on multiple occasions. Its members have also participated in national and international competitions, including the Commonwealth Games. The club has been a part of significant milestones in the shooting community, such as its participation in the first televised shooting match on the range of the Support Weapons Wing of the School of Infantry at Netheravon, which was filmed by the BBC on May 1, 1954.

Although the club used to have its range in Salisbury, it no longer does and is actively looking for a new venue in or around the city. Presently, the club convenes once a month at Andover Rifle Range, as well as at Old Sarum Range and on a weekly basis near Potterne.

The Salisbury Rifle and Pistol Club welcomes contributions from past members and their families, including club photographs and stories from its illustrious history.
