Roding Rifle & Pistol Club, an esteemed establishment with a rich history, boasts a strong and dedicated membership. Originating in the early 1970s under the guidance of Janet and Terry Rayment, the club thrived with Janet Rayment, a former member of the England pistol team, contributing her expertise.
The club’s range, accompanied by an adjacent hall, was constructed in the early 1930s by a local entrepreneur and philanthropist who held the esteemed position of Colonel in Chief of the local T.A. This well-appointed range features five shooting points equipped with returning target holders. With a wooden floor, soundproofing, and an efficient extraction system, it provides a comfortable and controlled environment for shooters.
At Roding Rifle & Pistol Club, a diverse range of shooting disciplines awaits enthusiasts. These include 10m and 20m air weapons, 20m .22 gallery rifle, and 25-yard prone .22 rifle competitions. The club also facilitates shooting with up to .38 caliber rifles and long-barreled revolvers. Moreover, there is a strong emphasis on muzzle loading firearms, with dedicated evenings reserved for this captivating discipline.
The clubhouse, recently redecorated and tastefully furnished, offers a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere for members. Women are an integral part of the club, and their presence is warmly embraced. Members can unwind and engage in friendly conversations, enjoying the camaraderie fostered within the club. To further enhance the experience, complimentary tea and coffee are always available, ensuring a comfortable environment for all.
Roding Rifle & Pistol Club takes pride in providing a range of firearms for its members.
