Helston & District Rifle Club - Shooting Club in Helston

Helston & District Rifle Club is a long-standing shooting club founded in 1940. The club has a rich history, having celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2014 and 25 years at its current location, Station Range. Prior to this, the club operated from a converted potting shed at Lismore for nearly 50 years.

With the support of Helston Town Council, the club was able to purchase its current site, the old shunting yard of Helston Railway, and build a five-point firing point with a spacious clubroom. The club is committed to inclusiveness and has a strong and diverse membership base, welcoming visually impaired shooters 14 years ago and more recently, junior shooters. Today, the club has approximately 60 members ranging in age from 10 years old to 70.

Helston & District Rifle Club is also dedicated to promoting the sport and offers wheelchair access and accessible unisex toilet facilities. The club’s members actively participate in local, county, and national competitions, including the National Rifle Meeting, British Airgun Championships, British Wheelchair Sports Championships, and the British Blind Shooting Championships. With a proud tradition and commitment to inclusiveness, Helston & District Rifle Club is a welcoming community for shooters of all levels and abilities.
