East of England Shooting Ground is based in Lincolnshire

I recently booked a group session for my 30th and I can honestly say EESG went above and beyond throughout the day.
We started the day with breakfast and coffee, got fitted for our guns and had a detailed tutorial with Chris. We were on the range for quite some time practicing then came back to the lodge for a buffet lunch that had a wide variety where everyone was catered for (the birthday cake was a really nice touch as well!) We then had a friendly competition to round off the day.
Everything was well organised, everyone was really friendly and we all had a great time. This was my first visit to the ground and definitely won’t be the last. Thanks to everyone at EESG for making it a day to remember!
What a place East of England Shooting Ground is. Surrounded by fenland it is the perfect destination for not only shooting but also, clearing your mind on the way there.
There are a great many banks which naturally lend themselves to high targets, some in the game area (not pictured) can be 80ft. Its difficult to know where to start with this ground as there really is so much going on.
Currently they are running a clay snooker championship with the final on the 8th April. The clays are colour coded and progressively more difficult with the red being a rabbit. Great. The final black is a battue and there’s a rising teal in the mix as well.
After the final, Extreme Eight will take the place of the very popular snooker (£15 entry).
This is all done from one stand so no need to be walking long distance as its right next to the car park and clubhouse!
The clubhouse sells cartridges and has lots of nice comfy seats that have the feel of a Chesterfield but are a decent height so you can still sit at the table and have a tea, coffee and gossip.
The ground have just had a new long range system fitted and are very happy with it.
Trapping is taken most seriously and I had a good chat with Simon who really knows his stuff. The game layout really impressed me and was a nice surprise at the end. When I thought I’d seen it all.
Everything is really tastefully done there, birds are singing and the sporting layout is excellent.
Because of the banks and the water, every target has a completely different view and really immerses you in the beauty of the landscape there.
Its really well kept but not over kept to the point of being sterile, as you can see it is just beautiful. The skeet ranges (of which there are two) are tastefully done and immaculate.
Overall there’s about fifty five targets and there’s sportrap too.
Each stand has loads of space and feels completely different to any other. As you can see there’s a high tower and I particularly liked the driven target flushed over the tree.
Other things to note are the unobtrusive handmade little cabins on the stands that store the electrical bits and bobs.
Everyone was really friendly, a good mix of abilities and a good mix of guns.
Highly recommended with loads to see and loads to shoot. Thoughtful targets with something for everyone.
Its basically like being on holiday.
Booked a surprise shoot for my wife and myself. We both have never shot fire arms. We had quite possibly the most relaxed day, our instructor Chris, what a gentleman. His skill in teaching is quite possibly the most impressive first stage. Just his understanding of how someone visually observes the guns perspective was impressive. He has a technique for correcting your posture to make the most of your shot. Considering how new we are I have to say we are hooked. Partly due to Chris’s teaching here. We are looking to continue this. A big thank you too the shooting ground as it was such a great day. Seriously good day and money well spent. We shall be frequenting this along with my wife. Highly recommend.
Today I visited East Of England Shooting Ground to meet with a new client. In my 20 years of shooting I’ve never been to this ground before, it’s a good 2 hour drive for me, but by gosh it was worth it. Lovely Clubhouse, good food, welcoming people, ground is immaculate, friendly, excellent range of targets, and they have a proper, yes, a proper Snooker Shoot, which I had to have a go on!
I will most definitely taking more clients there, and Def go back to do a registered comp there. Thanks guys and gals!
Field handy for dog to run free. Great exercise space
First time at shooting Chris was sooo patient with me. Hit the Clay’s in the end. Definitely go again.
Went a few times already to use the air rifle shooting range. Quite satisfied over all. Friendly staff, good club house facilities, good parking.Few things that can be improved by my point of view at the air rifle shooting area are the seats and the targets might be worth to paint because quite hard to see them. Haven’t been at the shotgun range as I am still waiting for my certifications to be translated, but only seen happy faces around so must be good.
The three of us had an amazing time at our lesson today. Chris and Paul made us feel safe and comfortable, we had thorough instructions on handling the shotguns and we had so much fun! Thanks again!
