Henley Trinity Hall Rifle Club - Shooting Club in Henley-on-Thames
Henley Trinity Hall Rifle Club is a historic target shooting club that has been around since 1910. The club’s origins are tied to the establishment of miniature rifle clubs in the late 1800s, which made it easier for local communities to set up shooting ranges and competitions. Henley Trinity Hall was one of many clubs that emerged during this time, with the added benefit of also providing workshops for locals to learn trades and even a boys’ band.
During World War I, every member of the club joined up, some as snipers. After the war, the club restarted its activities and continued until the outbreak of World War II. The club’s outdoor range at Hernes Park was opened in 1938 with the help and generosity of the Ovey family, who have maintained a close association with the club since the early 1930s.
Today, the club has 28 active shooting members, some of whom have been shooting for over 30 years. Although the club’s membership has decreased from its heyday of 50 members, the club still retains its historic charm and commitment to the sport of target shooting.

Great little club, really friendly and welcoming. The club has two firing points for target shooting at 20 yards. The club is mainly a Rim fire rifle club to shoot Rim fire but members also shoot Sports rifle, air rifle and air pistol. The range also supports shooting at 10m for air weapons. There are currently two Visually Impaired (VI) shooters at the club who shoot 10m Air rifle with audio sights. The club hopes to welcome new members, including VI people, people with other disabilities, young people and adults of all genders.
