King’s Lynn St Michaels Rifle & Pistol Club - Shooting Club in King's Lynn

King’s Lynn St Michael’s Rifle & Pistol Club (KLSM) has been based in West Bilney since 1971 when it relocated to its present site. The club’s clubhouse and indoor range were inaugurated by the late Earl Spencer, father of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, with the first shot, which is still proudly displayed in the clubhouse lounge.
The club boasts over 300 members from diverse backgrounds and professions and holds affiliations with several national shooting organizations such as the National Rifle Association, National Small bore Rifle Association, Muzzle Loaders of Great Britain, and the Norfolk County Rifle Association. It is also a Home Office approved club.
A committee of officials runs the club, aiming to promote target shooting as a fun pastime and hobby. The club’s indoor range has six shooting lanes, including five prone positions and six standing bays, each spanning 25 yards.
KLSM currently participates in several shooting disciplines, ranging from black powder through to rimfire and gallery rifle, and competes in a variety of competitions, from internal contests to county and some national competitions. The club actively encourages its members to take part in these competitions as a means of developing their shooting skills further.
