Maldon And District Air Rifle Club (M.A.D) has established itself as the premier air gun shooting club in the South East of England over the past 15 years. With a large and growing membership consisting of plinkers, families, and tournament shooters, the club has become a popular destination for enthusiasts.
The club takes pride in its highly successful shooting team, which has achieved an impressive feat by winning the UKAHFT team trophy for ten consecutive years. Members display their dedication by traveling considerable distances to enjoy the club’s exceptional facilities, which include multiple ranges catering to a diverse range of shooting disciplines. M.A.D offers a range of exciting shooting opportunities, such as monthly Hunter Field Target (HFT) competitions in their picturesque woodland area, as well as weekly shooting competitions on the expansive meadow course. For those interested in honing their Field Target and long-range shooting skills, the club provides plinking ranges extending up to 70 and 50 yards respectively. Additionally, members have access to a practice HFT course designed to UKAHFT specifications.
Even for those who prefer a non-competitive experience and simply want a place to plink, M.A.D boasts an excellent practice area with ample space to accommodate more than 30 shooters. Covered ranges are available to ensure shooting can continue even on inclement days. The club’s clubhouse provides a warm and dry haven for members, offering complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, as well as a gas hob for cooking. With clean and well-maintained restroom facilities, M.A.D ensures members’ comfort during their visits.
Membership at M.A.D grants year-round access to the club’s facilities, from dawn until dusk, with no additional daily range fees. Competitions may incur a small charge, but the annual membership covers regular range usage.
