Petworth & District Rifle Club - Shooting Club in Petworth
Petworth & District Rifle Club is a Home Office approved club and NSRA affiliated organization located in the heart of Petworth. Its origins can be traced back to the late 1800s with the formation of the Sussex Rifle Volunteer Corps, of which the 6th corps was established in Petworth in 1860.
The club is known for its friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and members meet regularly three times a week at their own indoor 25-yard range and clubroom. Shooting disciplines include prone and benchrest smallbore .22 target rifle, as well as Lightweight Sporting Rifle (LSR) in standing (20yd) and prone (25yd). Occasionally, .22 air rifles are used, mainly by juniors.
Petworth & District Rifle Club welcomes individuals who are interested in taking up a new sport, returning to shooting after a break, looking for additional shooting opportunities, or even experienced marksmen who are interested in joining a team.
