Stanmore Rifle and Pistol Club offers a range of facilities and disciplines for members to practice target shooting. These include Small Bore Rifle Prone, Small Bore Rifle Benchrest, Full Bore Rifle, Black Powder shooting (at Bisley), Target Air Rifle and Target Air Pistols.

The Club’s mission is to promote the sport of Target Shooting and provide a safe and friendly environment for members to participate in the sport by offering equipment and instruction for beginners. Target Shooting is a sport that can be enjoyed by individuals of all ages and abilities, and the Club has members ranging from young to old in all disciplines.

The Club participates in both individual and team competitions in club and Middlesex County league competitions. Shooting requires a combination of mental and physical strength, with shooters having to maintain stillness, reduce their heart rate and control their breathing before taking every shot. Target Shooting helps to develop concentration, self-discipline, self-confidence and a sense of responsibility.

The Club’s range is approved by the Home Office, which means that members can possess firearms and ammunition without holding a personal firearm certificate. However, firearms and ammunition must be stored at the club. The Club is also affiliated with the National Small Bore Rifle Association (NSRA) and the National Rifle Association (NRA).

The Club is located in Northwest London in a purpose-built building with six 25-yard firing points, a waiting/setting up area with kitchen facilities, and ample car parking space.
