Excellent facilities for anyone interested in 10 metre air rifle and pistol shooting, and interestingly located inside a World War 2 bunker. They have instructors for beginners right through to competitive levels and all age groups, male or female. There is a 10 lane setup using Megalink electronic target scoring, perfect for monitoring each shot taken, correcting if necessary. Club staff I met were Maria and Iain who were very helpful, friendly and happy to discuss all about shooting. On site there is a cafe with home baking etc available, highly recommended and well worth a visit.
It’s sometimes hard to find holiday activities for teenagers but my son and his cousin leapt at the chance to shoot air rifles inside a nuclear bunker! Great introduction to air rifle and pistol shooting starting with safety and some coaching on basic technique then on to some fun games such as aiming at the hole in a polo mint! Another part of the bunker is set up as an interactive museum so I was able to find out about WW2 radar operations while the boys were enjoying their shooting. Highly recommended.
We spent a couple of hours with the team at Target Technique shooting air rifles and pistols and the experience from start to finish was absolutely fantastic.
After weapon and range safety familiarisation we moved on to coaching on developing sight picture, trigger technique and getting comfortable to shoot before finishing off by putting our nascent skills to the test with a wee competition.
The team are all welcoming and friendly and very knowledgeable and patient so wether you’re a novice or a master I’d highly recommend a trip.
