As a novice the service given by Avalon Guns at Mendip Shooting Ground was superb. All the staff were friendly, welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable, and informative. They gave me all the time I needed and not a pushy sales tactic in sight! With a wide selection of new and used guns, and equipment (all at what seemed good prices to me), they still offered me a good deal, and a free lesson when I want to go back. I have no hesitation recommending them to anyone – it made sorting out the things I needed a really enjoyable experience; can’t see any reason to go anywhere else. The team at the shooting ground are equally helpful and welcoming, with really good facilities and a great set up. My thanks to everyone at Avalon and Mendip – it’s making taking up the sport a real pleasure.
After purchasing my Browning 525 Limited Edition from Avalon Street store i popped up to the Avalon Mendip Shooting Ground to get the gun fitted as it has an adjustable stock,
On arrival of this wonderful Shooting Ground I was greeted by Tony Ellis,
Again as with the Street store I was taken back on how helpful the Mendip staff was,
Tony especially was so helpful in giving me advice on my new purchase,
After a few stock adjustments he took me out into the ground to try my new Browning out on 50 Clays,
He gave me professional advice whilst on the stands and he got me shooting my new gun really well, breaking plenty of Clay’s including hard to break birds,
I’ve got to say Mr Ellis is a true Gentleman with the patience of a saint, I couldn’t recommend him highly enough for shooting advice wether you’re a new shooter or a old hand that might need a bit of advice,
As for the grounds, it’s set in beautiful part of the Mendip Hills, the recreational building has the most amazing Gun room with a huge selection of new and second hand guns for sale, the restaurant area offer some lovely food and drinks too,
A marvellous place to visit if you’re ever that way,
I couldn’t recommend it any higher to be honest.
I’m new to the sport and couldn’t have asked for better advice and guidance from Tony at Avalon Guns. He took a long time explaining the ins and outs and took me on to the shooting ground to ensure I got the correct gun. There was no hint of salesman ship and I would highly recommend Avalon Guns. Very happy indeed.
